i made a quilt!
for you quilt experts out there, it's not a very impressively difficult one, but it's been a while since i've attempted quilting and i didn't want to tackle anything too terribly complicated. i added the embroidery flair that i've been getting into lately and i love how it turned out!
baby rebekah was born a couple months ago to the cowboy-est of parents you'll ever meet. so her quilt had to be a cowboy quilt, of course. naomi (the mom) hates pink and anything too girly so she was very specific about her color perferences.
i tried for a girlish feel without being too overtly girly in colors...
my favorite parts are the little embroidered cowboy decor in random corners. wouldn't it be funny to come up with a craft project that combines ALL the different crafts? a knitted, crocheted, embroidered quilt, perhaps...
the novelty of this particular quilt made me hanker to sew more quilts with different themes... and of course, to have a baby myself for whom to make a quilt just as cute!
there have been a wealth of babies born in our church lately - we're a booming community, that's for sure. next on the due date calendar - erica! she's due around 10 days from now!!

Fabulous quilt. It's my dream to become a quilter. I have so many ideas for hip, artsy quilts. I actually had a library in Spfld order me like 8 quilting how-to books. I read them all. 8 books, 0 quilts. Shame. One day. Thanks for sharing yours, I love it.
